I was also married in the Carribbean with a UK reception and my mother faced the same problem. To begin with you should dress in a colour that suits you, sounds obvious but you shouldn't dress in say yellow if you are very pale. I highly recommend going to one of the larger department stores (Harvey Nics, Debenhams, JOhn Lewis) and using their free personal shopper service, they will collect various outfits suitable for the climate and elegance of a wedding. Personally I feel you will be too hot and sticky in a hat but perhaps a facinator (feather hat on side of head!) or a single flower placed by the hairdresser that morning? Don't forget comfortable shoes as your feet will swell. p.s My Mum ended up getting 2 outfits because she couldn't chose, that was her excuse anyway! Bernadette - Dream Occasions

Hi Rose, I understand that you wish to wear the same oufit to both wedding celebrations. I do not know when your daughter is getting married but the dominican is usually hot and sunny; whereas the UK rarely is. I would buy an oufit with with a jacket or over top; for the Dominican wedding I would not wear the jacket or over top; keep this for the UK blessing then although you have the same outfit for both; they will look different and suit each climate. It will be very hot in a hat in the Dominican; therefore again you could keep your hat for the blessing in the UK, which will offer your outfit another different look. You could consider a local flower set in your hair and a smaller flower/corsage on your bag; this will offer a bright colourful addition to your outfit suited to the Dominican wedding and for the blessing in the UK; your outfit will have a different but approriate look suited to the UK blessing. This offers one full outfit but two completely different looks. Good Luck MRS S
